On Saturday morning, the first snow of the year fell. The sparrows in the garden crowded the bird feeder, while a blackbird looked on bemused, fluffing up his feathers to keep warm.
Although the snow soon cleared, I figured there would be little for Ade to do on the allotment as the ground was still frozen solid. I thought perhaps we’d have a cosy day at home; light a fire, watch a film. However, I’d barely finished my morning cup of tea before he appeared, wellies on, wrapped up against the cold, power-drill in hand.
What on earth did he have planned?
Come rain or shine (or snow), you can’t keep the boy away from his beloved veg plot!
