Pear-shaped

So, here we are in November already. We’ve been in living in our house for a year now, although you’d never guess if you saw the place – we’re still living out of boxes while the renovations crawl along!

I do love autumn; the colours of the trees, the smell of woodsmoke in the air… I know it’s a prelude to winter, which I’m not so fond of, but for now, I’m enjoying walking through the countryside, observing how the landscape is changing.

I had hoped to share a new recipe with you this week, my first for over a year. Unfortunately, I used up all the remaining pears from our tree in my attempts at a new desert which never quite made the grade! See? I’m so out of practice! And now, sadly, out of pears! In the absence of a new recipe, I’m unearthing a treat from the archives: these Chard and Potato Pasties are a winner at this time of year! 😋

  1. Such lovely pictures … makes me a little homesick! Autumn is the best time of year. Manhattan is getting colder now, so I’m going to have to go and buy a big thick coat as apparently it’s just going to get worse and worse 😰
